Framing Analysis Model Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki

As a framing analysis methods have different characters with quantitative content analysis. Center of attention in framing analysis is the establishment of a text message rather than the content (content) of a message / text communication. In framing the analysis, which we see is how the media interpret, understand, and framing the case / event as reported.

Model or approach in this study were used to model Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, this is because the model is very appropriate to analyze a newspaper that has news of a certain ideology behind it, this model divides the structure of the analysis into four parts: (more…)

Framing Analysis Research

Framing Analysis Research – The analysis was first conceived by framing Beterson 1955. Beterson interpret the frame as a conceptual structure or set of beliefs that organize political views, policies, and discourse, as well as providing standard categories to appreciate reality. Then, the concept is developed further Beterson by Goffman in 1974. Goffman assumes frame as the behavior of pieces (strips of behavior) that guide individuals in the reading of reality.

The concept of framing has been used widely in communication science literature to describe the process of selecting and highlighting particular aspects of a reality by the media. (more…)
